Bleating Heart
Marsha Mallow is a shy, sensitive sheep struggling to keep her beloved flower shop afloat while dealing with rude customers and a greedy landlord. She longs for change in her life… and gets the ultimate transformation when she accidentally becomes possessed by a demon and gains the power to shift into his lycan form.
Now host to Tenebrous Moonshaker, a belligerent wolf spirit who feeds on mortal misery–including her own–, Marsha must learn to harness her emotion-triggered transformations while piecing together the mystery of who amongst her new acquaintances performed the ritual that summoned Tenebrous… and why.
Bleating Heart is a mini webseries consisting of 4-5 minute episodes, with approximately 10 episodes total (subject to change as the series develops). The first installment, Episode 1, has been in production since 2020. Premier date TBA.
Meet the Characters
When Tenebrous is summoned back to the Vale after spending hundreds of years in Purgatory, he is less than pleased to find himself bound to the soul of a tiny sheep. Nevertheless, he finds a silver lining in the irony of being a literal "wolf in sheep's clothing." Unlike the anonymous person who summoned him, Marsha doesn't have an agenda, nor does she have an understanding of his powers. He takes advantage of her ignorance and uses her mortal coil as a disguise to evade the bidding of his true master, in exchange for teaching Marsha how to be a wolf.
In reverse-whodunnit fashion, we know who the werewolf is, but not who it was supposed to be. There are five characters suspected of performing the ritual that summoned Tenebrous and unknowingly bound him to Marsha, each with a possible motive for becoming the werewolf themselves:
Is it Lou Seifert, the secretive outcast with an affinity for the occult?
Is it Rhea Daring, the suave TV reporter desperate for a hard-hitting story?
Is it Hank Morose, the insufferable landlord obsessed with his wolf-hunting ancestry?
Is it Father Renard, the priest whose passion for the gospel verges on paranoia?
Or could it be Agnes Woolsworth, another young ewe, who mysteriously vanished the night of the full moon…?
A young ewe with a short fuse, Marsha wants nothing more than for her small business, the Bleating Heart flower shop, to succeed. Flowers are where she finds her solace, but lately the sanctuary of the shop has been tainted by cruel customers and raised rent. She turns to the wisdom of a self-help book in an effort to gain the confidence to stand up for herself—but unfortunately for her, it lacks a chapter on lycanthropy by demonic possession. Through a questionable alliance with Tenebrous, the wolf spirit living in her head, she’ll realize the potential of being a big, bad werewolf in a world where little sheep are easy prey.
